It's funny -- I was shocked to realize I knew all the words to the G-Force intro and the Star Blazers song. I never watched the shows but all of my friends did.
Until the film Akira I never cared for Japanese animation, preferring the more fluid squash-and-stretch styles of Warner Brothers. I definitely couldn't stomach them now. The low framerate (I think they're animating on sixes or something!) and samey look bothers me more than ever, and the by-the-book formula of many of these kids' shows is now completely intolerable.
(I am enjoying one called Death Note right now though, a guilty pleasure no one in my family knows about.)
