Opening Reception for Family of Clay

Sorry this is so late in the game. With my brother's wedding I've been a week behind all month. I was convinced the show was open for another week. As it is, its open until the 6th. But it is *not* open on the weekends. Hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8-12, 1-4:30, Wed 1-4:30. I hope all who have not seen this show can go.

P.S. Anyone who is interested in seeing pix from my Bro's & Deb's wedding please go here

Oliver Art Center wall sign.

John, Shalene and Jeff in front of the CCA clay family tree.

Arthur Gonzalez giving one of his signature talks at the show opening.

Karen Koblitz. A must see in person.

Frontal view of my own.

Arthur's piece.

Lisa Clague.

Magdalene Crivelli.

Juan Santiago with a piece sporting a childhood favorite of mine...is it Ultraman?

Logan Wood. This is one that really needs to be seen in person...I can't stop looking at it.

Kim Tucker. I love her work.

My show "neighbor" Lauren Ari. Awesome piece.

A drawing from Charles Fiske, who was absolutely a favorite teacher of mine (and at CCAC, it was really hard to pick these out...everyone was really great). I could do a whole post on Charles. He passed away not long after I graduated and I miss him everyday.

Deirdre Daw's great teapot. My Dad is from Ohio and he wanted to leave a note "You left out Newark!"

Some of Charles' ceramic work.

Toy Bear

I made this bear for Mom for Xmas this year. I think he came out really good. He's crocheted and stuffed with batting. Below is a close up of his face. Getting a good face on a teddy bear is a challenge.

CCaCeramics 1950-2005

Quick check in: my piece in Oliver Art Center. Sorry I didn't get a shot of it straight on...it would have meant hip checking Bob Brady, so I didn't. It's a great show...I plan on going and seeing it tomorrow when it is less crowded. The opening was a blast! Great, great art! Go see it!
